he story of No Game, No Life centers around Sora and Shiro, a brother and sister whose reputations as brilliant NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) hikikomori (shut-in) gamers have spawned urban legends all over the Internet. These two gamers even consider the real world as just another “crappy game.” One day, they are summoned by a boy named “God” to an alternate world. There, God has prohibited war and declared this to be a world where “everything is decided by games”—even national borders. Humanity has been driven back into one remaining city by the other races. I really liked the whole idea of No Game No Life. The overall plot was really good and it was executed really well. Not a single episode was gone into waste and the whole anime is just so epic. It is really worth watching and I would not mind watching it again. Ever since the first episode, it is non-stop laughter and epicness. A must watch anime of 2014.
No Game No Life Beastmen Cheating Stories

What I really liked about the anime is how they do not only make 1 main character to take credit for all the epicness but instead have Sora and Shiro to share it among them. If there was only one, that person would seem to be a perfect character. I also do like how the anime played out the relationship between Sora and Shiro as they both cover each other’s weaknesses and neither of both is perfect. I really do like how the anime played out and how the story seems to slowly fix together towards the epic finale in the last episode. The plot where a world where every problem is solved through games and no wars or fights would break out really called out to me. Sounds like utopia. 😀
Character/Character Development:
(Do only read the first paragraph of each section if want a shorter and more brief review)
The Characters were really, really well done. As I said before there is no overpowered or perfect character in this anime which makes it really good. The development however, I only see in Stephanie and Chlammy Zell. Past that, the interactions and the details in the character’s behaviour was done well.
Sora; is the main male protagonist, with a rather perverted mind. He is a rather outgoing and confident in the things that he do. With his younger sister, both of them form the character “Blank”. I do admire his confidence to face other people even when they are cheating and yet be able to outsmart and beat them. He is less intelligent than his step sister Shiro but is much better at manipulating and predicting people’s next move and outsmarting them with his knowledge. His character was done really well with strengths and weaknesses which are clearly displayed during the anime.
Shiro; the loli imouto and 2nd half of “Blank”. She has a really high IQ and excels at games which logic and thinking. She is a brilliant tactician and a expert at fps shooting games. Although she is smart, she has a hard time understanding human emotions and behaviour and relies on Sora to cover her on that, as shown during the 1st episodes when playing chess against Tet. I really do like how the anime shows both main protagonists’ weaknesses and how they cover up for each other.
Music/Sounds:
Opening
No Game No Life Beastmen Cheating Scandal
Ending
The opening music is one of the best I heard. The music is simply beautiful and the art for it is really good too. I would listen to it many times in a day as I really do like the piano at the start. The opening really brings out what the anime is like. The BGM and sound effects were done pretty well too to match what they are meant to do.
Art:
The art for NGNL is either love or hate. For me, I liked it really well as it seemed to be really unique to the artist himself. I have yet to see any anime that has similar art to no game no life. I do know there is some people going on about how the artist was caught tracing, but so what? I do enjoy the anime and the art. Not that I approve of his tracing but I do like his way of drawing and designing the anime. Especially the art for the game world which reminds me of Alice in wonderland.
Enjoyment:
I have to say that I really did enjoy this anime as it is non-stop laughter and sheer epicness which got me going like.
I do recommend you to watch it if you would not mind a bit of ecchi here and there. Really can’t wait for season 2 which is coming out Fall 2015.
