About GTA 5

GTA 5 is the property of Rockstar North and the fifteenth edition in the GTA series. It is the follow-up to GTA 4. The original installment hit the market on September 17th, 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions were released later on November 18th, 2014 and the PC version on April 14th, 2015.

Grand Theft Auto 5 happens to be one of the most anticipated video games of 2013 and holds the record of 96 as one of the most well-received video games in history on GameRankings and MetaCritic. On its day of release, the game raked in $800 million and sold over 11.21 million copies. It hit the $1 billion mark within three days of release.

The Plot and Characters

GTA 5 takes place around 2013 in the city of Los Santos and its environs. It revolves around three characters; Trevor Philips, Franklin Clinton, and Michael De Santa. The game transpires about five years after the events that characterized GTA 4 and four years after GTA Chinatown Wars.

Game Play

For starters, GTA 5 features more vehicles than any other GTA game including helicopters, utility cars, motorcycles, emergency service cars and jet skis. Players can fly planes unlike in GTA 4. Other than that, there are also submarines that a player can use to explore the Pacific Ocean. The Rhino from earlier versions makes a return, even tough the aiming system is a bit complex. And there is a new addition that lets the player roll over a vehicle when the car flips upside down.

The weapons in GTA 5 include Norinco Type 56-2 assault rifles, complete with silencers, flashlights and side-folding stocks. A player can also mount attachments on several guns to enhance performance. Melee weapons include the golf club and the nightstick.
